SBA COACH REGISTRATION

SBA COACH VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION is NOW OPEN!!

Thank you for considering to volunteer to coach with the Strathcona Basketball Association! Without our volunteer coaches, we couldn’t run our programs.

Step 1 - Coach Registration in RAMP

When registering as a coach in RAMP:

• Promo Codes (to avoid paying CB $9 /ABA $20 fees - SBA covers these costs):

  • Canada Basketball: CBABAStaff27!

  • Alberta Basketball Association: SBA2@27!

• Enter both promo codes to waive the CB & ABA fees.  Please be sure NOT to copy/paste any spaces before or after the above promo codes.

• Select your division of choice:
  7U Co-Ed (this may be under 7U Boys, but it is a Co-Ed division only), 9U Girls, 9U Boys, 11U Girls, 11U Boys, 13U Girls, 13U Boys, 15U Girls, 15U Boys, 18U Women, 18U Men.

• If coaching more than one team, note this on your registration form.

• Player registration is already open - please register to coach as soon as possible.

Step 2 - Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

• All Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers working directly with youth must complete a Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Check each season.

• SBA covers the cost of your VSC.

• When you register in RAMP, you must check the box to complete the VSC through RAMP. You’ll be directed to a Triton form, then receive an email to answer 3-5 follow-up questions. Your completed check will be automatically uploaded to your RAMP profile.

• If you forget to check off the VSC box during registration, your registration will need to be deleted and redone.

• If you have a valid VSC from another sport or activity that is valid through March 2027, you may use it; however, it must be uploaded to RAMP when you register for the upcoming season. 

Step 3 - Safe Sport Training

• Safe Sport Training is required every two years.

• Deadlines:

  • 13U/15U Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3: August 15

  • EYBA Community Coaches (11U/13U/15U/18U): September 1

  • House League Coaches (7U/9U): September 30

SBA Coaching (13U/15U Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3)

• To head coach a top tiered team in 13U or 15U, you must register as soon as possible.

• Applications are due August 15.

• Coaches will be confirmed at the tryouts or just prior to.

Important Reminders

• If you don’t sign up in RAMP, you cannot be added to the coaches list or select gym times.

• All required steps (registration, VSC, Safe Sport) must be completed before the season starts.
